I'm a stylist and creative leaving my fingerprints on the fashion world at every turn.
As a proud Afro Latina creative living in America, I find an inescapable desire to leave my mark everywhere I turn in the world. As proud and passionate as I am, it also comes with obstacles. As a woman of color from a low income background, I’ve often felt the weight of being overlooked and underestimated. From a young age, I searched for ways to express myself, to feel seen, and to connect with others who’ve felt the same.
For me, styling became that form of expression. Before I had words for what I was feeling, I found power in clothes. I saw how an outfit could tell a story, shift a mood, or give someone confidence they didn’t know they had. It wasn’t just fashion, it was identity, imagination, and resistance. While I couldn’t always control my circumstances, I could choose how I presented myself to the world. That freedom became a lifeline.
But just like in film and media, I rarely saw people who looked like me represented in fashion in authentic, empowering ways. Latinas were often stereotyped or invisible, reduced to caricatures that didn’t reflect our complexity, strength, or beauty. I knew then that I wanted to be part of changing that narrative, not just for myself, but for every young Afro Latina who’s ever felt out of place in spaces that were never built with us in mind.
Styling has become more than a creative outlet for me, it’s a mission. I want to create images that honor real people, real stories, and real culture. I want to collaborate with others to build visual worlds that are inclusive and bold. Whether it’s on set, in a photoshoot, or helping someone find the look that makes them feel powerful. I know the impact it can have.
The fashion industry still struggles with diversity, and the barriers are real. But I’ve learned that my perspective is not a limitation. It’s my superpower. I am committed to putting in the personal, emotional, and professional work it takes to rise in this field, to raise the standard, and to challenge outdated norms.
This isn’t just about style. It’s about storytelling. It's about reclaiming space. And it’s about making sure the next generation of girls like me see themselves reflected in this world and know they belong.
